“The House of the Mouse”

The Blue Bell is furnished, almost throughout with the world famous Robert Thompson “Mouse Furniture”.

Most of the furniture and bar fittings are made from English Oak (Quercus Robur) and were manufactured in the Thompson factory which is situated in the picturesque village on the outskirts of Thirsk, North Yorkshire called Kilburn. The Oak is matured for at least five years and then crafted by traditional craftsmen using fundamental woodworking tools and techniques. The unusual finish to the wood has been created by the use of an Adze.

All pieces of furniture have been created by individual craftsmen who sign their work by the mark of a mouse. Every piece of furniture is the result of many weeks work.

In this tradition the Blue Bell prides itself on individuality, providing food and drinks that are prepared to order using the freshest ingredients available. All our Meat is English. Farm Assured, and Fully Traceable Gate to Plate.
